Are you curious about how companies adapt to complex sustainability regulations like CBAM and EUDR? This thesis gives you the chance to build tools that help Bufab navigate regulatory risks and make informed sourcing decisions that balance cost, compliance, and climate impact. At Bufab, you’ll have the opportunity to make a real difference – while gaining valuable experience for your future career!
Bufab is a global supplier of fasteners and technical components with a strong focus on sustainability, compliance, and digitalization. As we expand our data-driven sourcing capabilities, we are exploring how AI and machine learning can support sustainability and risk reduction. This thesis focuses on applying ML and NLP to supplier data.
As regulations evolve, Bufab is committed to staying ahead. We need smart tools to assess supplier and product risks, and simulate alternative sourcing strategies. Your thesis will support our procurement teams in making proactive, sustainable choices.
Depending on your interest, you can focus on building a risk mapping tool that flags products and suppliers affected by carbon taxes or compliance risks, or develop a simulator that compares sourcing alternatives and models cost and carbon impact.
